There's something for everyone this summer in Norfolk

It has been an exciting time to be in Norfolk these last couple of weeks as the county boasts both the Royal Norfolk show and the Lord Mayor’s Celebration. This year marked the 61st show to be held at the Norfolk Showground and some of The English Experience’s students were fortunate enough to see its first-class display. From horse jumping, to music, to beeswax candle rolling, our students had the opportunity to explore every inch of what the Showground had to offer. The show puts Norfolk in the spotlight, showing off its green and wonderful landscape, whilst promoting the importance of farming and the countryside. It’s an event which appeals to all ages, giving everyone an opportunity to see Norfolk at its best.
But away from the countryside of Norfolk, a carnival atmosphere continued on the streets of Norwich with the Lord Mayor’s Celebration. With 60 floats full of brightly dressed performers, some exciting street entertainment and enthusiastic crowds, it was a recipe for another fun-filled weekend of celebrations for The English Experience student’s to enjoy. The Norwich cobbled streets took on running races, processions and slippery slides. From wonderful theatrical performances and live music to fair ground rides and vintage markets in the Lanes, the last two weekends have seen Norfolk at its best. Rounding it all off with fireworks over Norwich Castle, the annual Lord Mayor’s Celebration means a trip to Norfolk at this time of year will always go off with a bang.
